OUR GOATS
Welcome to our herd, "Latta-Sunshine". We raise primarily American LaManchas which we use for milk, show and fun! We also have American Alpines and Purebred Nubians to keep things interesting. We are members of The Michigan Dairy Goat Society and The American Dairy Goat Association.
We participated in the Linear Appraisal program in 2010 to help us better access our herd and see if we are going in the right direction with our breeding program. We skipped 2011 due to many issues going on at the farm but plan to LA again in 2012. Also, our girls are on DHIR to record milking ability and quality based on how many pounds of milk each girl gives, and the amount of butterfat and protein.

Autumn-Acres Renae's Rhonda

"Rhonda"
Lamancha DOB 03/10/04
FOR SALE in Spring 2012
Rhonda has been a fabulous showmanship goat for our human girls. She is sweet in temperment and an easy milker. It's time someone else's children got the opportunity to own an easy handler so after kidding hopefully in April, she will be available.

Autumn-Acres Chesapeke Firefly
AL1451783
"Chessie"
American Lamancha DOB 03/07/08
Chessie is long and level and very dairy. She kidded for the first time in 2011 as a three year old. Now, coming up on four, we have repeated the breeding to Hemi and can't wait to see her kids!

Autumn-Acres Antiguan Bay

"'Tigua"
LA 2010 02-03 VVVV 86
Lamancha DOB 03/18/08
Antigua is long and tall! She towers over her herdmates. As one of our first kids purchased, she has become our favorite even though she sports an attitude. She has freshened three times for us(and we've kept a doe from each year!) and is a quiet, easy kidder. A good solid milker.

Udder-Parradise Candy Corn

"Candy"
LA 2010 02-03 +VVV 85
American Alpine DOB 03/22/08
Our first alpine, Candy is a very loving doe, if not rather loud. She is by far one of our better milkers! Love her udder attachment and medial ligament. This is what I would like to see in all of our goats. She's very dairy, with a level topline and a stong rump.
